Colour or Black or White
Manufacturers are trying with varying degrees of succes to get the cost of printing colour documents to the same as printing in black and white.
However, in practice the only real way of doing this is currently by subsidising their costs, or by using a click charge that artificially flattens the costs across both types of document.
For now, if you are going to buy or use a colour printer it is going to cost you up to four times as much to print every page. You should also be aware that often (depending on the manufacturer) the cost of printing black (mono) pages on these printers can also be higher.
So, colour is nice but be sure you really need it, and that where you do have it you manage efficiently the use of it.
